Ipswich Mobile Library redeployed as Library and Customer Service Hub

Rosewood residents are able to access more than just library services as the Rosewood Interim Library and Council Connect services open in Anzac Park this week.

Ipswich City Council has redeployed its Mobile Library Service as the interim library and customer service hub until the new Rosewood Library opens in May 2020.

Ipswich City Council Corporate Services Department acting general manager Sylvia Swalling said the services will provide Rosewood residents with more options for engaging with council services locally.

“As part of Ipswich City Council’s commitment to provide an interim Library and Customer Service hub in Rosewood, the Mobile Library has been re-purposed as a Council Connect point that will offer both Library and Council Customer Service,” she said.

“Rosewood residents can now talk with one of our Customer Service staff or engage with Library staff and receive the excellent library service the community have in the past.”

Rosewood Queensland Country Women’s Association (QCWA) member Nelly Haly said the initiative will be great for the community.

“Since the mobile bus doesn’t come anymore I think it’s a great solution and brilliant idea,” she said.

“It will be good for QCWA with people coming and going as it might help us get a few more members.”

Any current customers of the Mobile Library who would have difficulty in reaching council’s expanding library network will be able to access council’s existing Home Library Service where material will be delivered directly to their homes.

The Rosewood Interim Library and Council Connect service is at Anzac Park, Rosewood and is open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm.

Council Connect services include:

  • Rates Enquiries and Payments
  • Dog Registrations
  • Park Venue Enquiries
  • Parking Infringements
  • Ipswich Waste Enquiries
  • Licences and Renewals
  • Property Searches
  • Planning and Development Applications
  • Event Bookings

  1. We are moving back to Ipswich very soon and are pleased to read of the new Rosewood Library being built. We were frequent members of the Mobile Library when we lived in Rosewood.
