Nicholas St update: New library continues to emerge with roof installation

A major focus this week for crews working on the Nicholas St redevelopment has been the installation of the roof and frame for the new library.

The structure continues to rapidly take shape and work is also progressing on the installation of the future lifts and stairwells from the car park.

Crews working on the civic plaza section of the project have completed the demolition of the frame of the former Woolworths loading dock.

This allowed for construction to begin on the future deck bar, with the concrete foundations poured.

The new council administration building continues to go ahead in leaps and bounds.

About 110 workers are currently on site at the Nicholas St redevelopment.

As well as construction, the countdown is on to the Future Flavour Food Fair which will be held in the precinct on Saturday, 29 February from 4pm.

It will include food trucks and live music, with some traders to also open on the day.
