One new case of COVID-19 today from Ipswich Hospital cluster

There is on new confirmed case of COVID-19 in Queensland today.

This person is a health care worker from Ipswich Hospital and is a known contact of a previous case and was returned the positive result on their 10th day in quarantine.

Health Minister Steven Miles said there is no risk of community transmission from that case.

“We currently have 27 active cases and we have had a rebound of people getting tested,”

Minister Miles said.

“They are by and large people in the right locations with the right symptoms.

“We have had 11,643 people tested in the last 24 hours.

In the last five days Queensland has had two new cases of COVID-19 both in quarantine.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, fatigue or loss of taste or smell.
