Your favourite pizzas across Ipswich

Pizza is one of the world’s most debatable foods.

From acceptable toppings (does pineapple belong on a pizza?) to the preferred base (sourdough, woodfired, thin and crispy, or deep dish) it’s one food that will always get people talking.

Ipswich First recently shared a story on Six gourmet pizzas worth trying and it sparked a bit of debate on our Facebook page over where to find the best slice in Ipswich.

So thanks to our readers for these worthy suggestions.

Here’s some more great local pizza places to add to your list:

Mozzarella Fella Pizzeria

This Booval pizzeria uses local fresh ingredients to make its range of traditional and gourmet pizzas.

You can choose from two sizes, 11 or 18 inch pizzas if you’ve got a crowd to feed.

The house special, Mozarella Fella, is topped with ham, salami, anchovies, feta, Kalamata olives, garlic and mozzarella cheese.

The Greek features lamb, spinach, sliced olives, onion and is topped with tzatziki sauce.

Or if you’re having trouble making up your mind, go for the Mafia Surprise. Your pizza will be topped with different variations of ingredients depending on the mood of the chef.

Visit their website or Facebook page to see the full menu and place your order.

Pizzeria la Prima

The traditional Italian pizzas at this popular Springfield pizzeria feature hand-stretched bases and fresh ingredients.

Try the Quattro Formaggi, or four cheese pizza, which is topped with two types of mozzarella (shredded and 100 per cent milk), gorgonzola and parmesan, or try a classic Cappricciosa, which includes prosciutto crudo, marinated artichokes, mushrooms, mozzarella and basil.

The pizzeria has been keeping young pizza-lovers entertained during COVID-19 with La Prima DIY Isolation pizza packs. The $15 pack includes a La Prima base, passata, mozzarella and basil with video instructions on how to make a Margherita or more creative options.

La Prima Pizzeria also make their own chocolate salami and tiramisu in store, which is available for takeaway, so save room for dessert!

Big Pappa’s Pizza & Spare Ribs

You’ll find a variety of choice at this 15-year-old family-run business in Camira.

Using fresh home-made dough, Big Pappa’s pizzas include the classics and some more adventurous flavours, such as Cheeseburger, which is topped with beef, onion, pickles, mozzarella and swirls of mustard and tomato sauce.

Another favourite is Big Pappas’s house special pizza with beef, ham, kabana, mushrooms, onion, capsicum, olives and mozzarella.

The pizza and ribs joint has also recently been voted Greater Springfield’s favourite takeaway.
