Country music stars to headline Ipswich festival

Some of the biggest names in country music have been confirmed for CMC Rocks QLD, Australia’s leading country festival ahead of its highly anticipated return to Ipswich next March.

The festival, in its 17th year, will be led by superstar Lainey Wilson on her debut Australian visit along with headliners Tyler Hubbard and Chris Young as well as a strong line-up of international and local artists.

Acting Ipswich Mayor Russell Milligan said the exciting line-up reflected Ipswich’s reputation as the home of country music and CMC Rocks QLD.

“CMC Rocks QLD has gone from strength to strength since moving to Ipswich and the 2024 line-up reveal ensures next year’s festival will once again be a hit,” Acting Mayor Milligan said.

“CMC Rocks QLD brings great benefits to our community contributing about $11 million to our economy each year and generating more than 61,000 visitor nights in Ipswich.

“The festival this year topped 23,000 attendees with more than 90 per cent from outside the city, and I’m sure with the strong line-up announced for next year’s event tickets will once again be snapped up fast as country music lovers make their annual pilgrimage to Ipswich.”

Community, Culture, Arts and Sport Committee Chairperson Councillor Andrew Fechner said events such as CMC Rocks QLD were important to Ipswich.

“CMC Rocks QLD is a wonderful event for Ipswich residents and visitors, bringing significant spin-off benefits for local businesses such as cafes and restaurants, retail outlets and accommodation providers,” Cr Fechner said.

“We can’t wait to welcome these country music superstars to Ipswich.”

Chairman of Chugg Entertainment, Michael Chugg, said he expected the 2024 festival to surpass all expectations.

“CMC Rocks QLD has always been about bringing the global country music community together,” Mr Chugg said.

“This year, with such a diverse and powerful line-up, we’re set to deliver an experience that transcends boundaries and resonates with fans old and new.

“Every year, CMC Rocks QLD surpasses expectations and 2024 will be no exception.”

CMC Rocks 2024 will be on Friday 15 March to Sunday 17 March 2024 at Willowbank.
